Our laboratory currently offers two types of diagnostic testing for COVID-19: antibody testing and molecular confirmation testing. Antibody testing detects levels of COVID-19 antibodies in the blood and can predict the stage of infection in which a patient is currently undergoing. Molecular confirmation testing uses specimen from a nasal swab to detect the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 viral genetic material to verify if you are currently infectious. While these two tests can be performed independently of each other, when coupled together, they provide more accurate data to confirm the validity of your results.
